Terms and conditions

About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and Makai Labs Srl, Via Nino Bixio 7, 20129 Milano (MI), Italy, VAT IT13407430969, [email protected] (“we”). They cover the Tadink app for Mac, this website, your Tadink account and Tadink Pro. By downloading Tadink, creating an account or subscribing, you accept them. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.

Using Tadink

We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to install Tadink and use it on the Macs you own or control, for personal or work use. Tadink and its design remain ours. Don’t copy, sell or rent it, and don’t reverse engineer it except where the law allows. Tadink includes open-source components, each under its own licence.

Your account

You don’t need an account to use Tadink on your Mac. You need one for Tadink Pro. Accounts are for people aged 16 or over, and buying Pro requires being an adult where you live. Use an email address you control, keep the ways you sign in secure, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You can delete it at any time from Account in Tadink.

Your content

What you dictate and record, and everything Tadink makes from it, belongs to you and stays on your Mac. When you use Tadink Cloud, we process your text only to give you the result. We claim no rights to any of it.

Using it responsibly

Use Tadink lawfully. If you record or transcribe other people, as in a meeting or a call, it’s up to you to tell them and to get their consent where the law asks for it. Don’t use Tadink Cloud to break the law or harm anyone, to overload or probe our systems, or to resell access to it.

AI results

Transcripts, corrections, summaries, translations and answers are made automatically and can contain mistakes. Check anything important before you rely on it.

Plans and payment

  • Free plan. On-device dictation and correction are included, at no cost.
  • Tadink Pro is a subscription that adds Tadink Cloud, with a monthly allowance. It’s billed monthly or yearly, at the price shown before you pay, including VAT where it applies. Stripe handles the payment.
  • Trial. When a trial is offered, checkout shows its length. There’s one per person, and you’re charged when it ends unless you cancel before.
  • Renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. Cancel at any time from Manage Subscription in Tadink. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting your account cancels the subscription too.
  • Allowance. Tadink Cloud’s allowance renews at the start of each calendar month. Once it’s used up, Tadink Cloud waits for the next month, and everything on your Mac carries on.
  • Price changes. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription. If you don’t agree, cancel before it applies.

Your right to withdraw

If you’re a consumer in the EU, you can withdraw from your Tadink Pro subscription within 14 days of the day you subscribe, trial included, without giving a reason. To withdraw, tell us clearly before the 14 days end, from the contact page. You can use the form below, but you don’t have to.

We’ll refund every payment we’ve received from you within 14 days of hearing from you, through the same payment method, at no cost to you. If you asked for Pro to start during those 14 days, you pay only for the share of the period you had before you withdrew.

Legal guarantee

As a consumer, you have the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services under the Italian Consumer Code (art. 135-octies and following). Nothing in these terms limits it.

Changes to Tadink

We keep improving Tadink, so features change, and some may go. We work to keep Tadink Cloud available, but it can be interrupted now and then. If we stop offering Pro, we’ll tell you at least 30 days ahead and refund the unused part of any period you’ve paid for.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or anywhere the law doesn’t allow it, and nothing limits your rights as a consumer.

If you use Tadink for your business, then apart from those cases our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we’re not liable for indirect losses or lost data. Keep copies of what matters to you.

Ending

You can stop using Tadink and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, telling you why when we can. If we close it without your fault, we refund the unused part of any period you’ve paid for.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we’ll tell you in Tadink or by email at least 30 days before it applies. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before then.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protections of the law where you live, and you can take a claim to your local courts. If you use Tadink for your business, the courts of Milan decide any dispute. Either way, write to us first: most things are quicker to sort out together.
